Your email address, only if you type it into one of the forms on this website, to send you what that form says: the weekly guide before you set off, an email the day before you arrive in Santiago, the arrival sheet or a notice if a page changes. Depending on the form, also your departure or arrival date and the route you’ve chosen, so I can send you the right thing at the right time.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you give by ticking the box and confirming the email you receive afterwards (double opt-in). You can withdraw it whenever you like using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to me. Unsubscribing is free.
Emails are sent through the Sender platform (UAB Sender.lt, Vilnius, Lithuania), which stores data on servers in the European Union and acts as data processor. The website is served from Cloudflare Pages. I don’t sell or pass on your email to anyone.
Until you unsubscribe. There’s just one arrival email, the day before, plus a notice if something changes that affects you; the weekly ones stop on the day you set off.

This website doesn’t use tracking or advertising cookies. It stores on your phone (the browser’s local storage) what you choose: the phase you’re in, your departure and arrival dates, your route and stage, and the downloaded weather forecast, so the website works without signal. That never leaves your phone and it’s deleted if you clear your browser data. The fonts are hosted on this same website. To count visits it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which according to Cloudflare “does not collect or use visitors’ personal data”.
The forecast is provided by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway, CC BY 4.0 licence). When the website requests it, your browser connects to api.met.no and that service sees your IP address.
